Robin (Core) Davis
Dear MHS Classmates and The Reunion
Committee,
I am sorry that I will miss the 40th Reunion in Morgantown. It would be
wonderful to see you all again. The Committee has done a great job contacting
all of us and keeping us posted on the plans. Thank you for connecting fellow
classmates by e-mail, especially those of us that live far away from each other.
My family and I were in Morgantown for a few days this past December for my
father's Memorial Service. My dad (Bob Core) was 97 years old and was very
healthy up until four months before he died. Morgantown was his home for 92
years until my parents moved to Atlanta to be close to us. During the visit to
Morgantown we stayed at the Hotel Morgan, and from our room we could see MHS on
the hill. I have very fond memories of MHS, the friends, classmates, and of
course, the MHS concert and marching band.
After graduating from MHS and WVU, I lived in Hanover, New Hampshire for two
years and worked at the Dartmouth Medical Center. The people were great, but the
winters were brutal. I moved to sunny Atlanta and have lived here for 34 years!
My husband, Wheatley Davis, is a native of Memphis, and now runs his own
business as a consultant corporate auditor and investor. Our son, Wheatley
Robert, will be 17 this summer and is a rising senior in high school. After
graduate school at Emory University, I have been working in international health
for the past
31 years with Global Health Action, an international health education and
training organization with graduates in 88 developing countries. I serve as
Executive Director. Please let me know if any of you live near Atlanta or if you
will be traveling to Atlanta.
Have a great reunion! I hope to make the 45th or at least the 50th! Let's stay
in touch by e-mail, too.
Best Regards,
Robin
