Jody (Gluck) Crosland
It has become apparent this week that I will not be able to get to Morgantown for the reunion, so I have decided to send an update -- which is certainly not as much fun as seeing everyone in person.
After graduating from WVU, I gathered my courage and took a job in Miami. (Actually, I moved here 35 years ago yesterday!) My husband, Jim, is from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and is an employment management labor attorney. I became an Assistant Director of the Miami-Dade County Elections Department, which I thankfully left well prior to the fiasco of the 2000 Election to raise our two children. James graduated in May from Claremont McKenna College in California. Maggie just completed her freshman year at Bowdoin College in Maine. Three years ago I decided to go back to work. I am a fund raiser and coordinator of parent volunteer activities at a college prep school, Ransom Everglades, in Coconut Grove.
While Miami is an exciting, international city, I realized long ago that the Caribbean breezes will never replace the West Virginia hills in my heart. Though my parents passed away a few years ago, my brother still lives in Morgantown and I will be there in late July. Maybe I will have a chance to see some of you. If you are in the Miami area, would love to show you Biscayne Bay, the Everglades and South Beach!
Until our next class gathering, best to all.
Jody
