Jeannine (Roth) Branch
When my husband and I left the
reunion last Saturday night, he remarked about what a group of interesting and
successful people our class seemed to be..... He was right. Our class of '67 has
done many positive things in this world and we're not finished yet. I'm sorry I
didn't get to speak to everyone at the party. When I got my reunion picture, I
saw many people I didn't even know were there.
After reading so many interesting biographies, I decided to share my own. After
MHS, I graduated from WVU with a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Jim
Downs and I married and we lived at Deep Creek Lake for a year where I worked
for Garrett County Schools. We moved back to Morgantown and I returned to WVU to
become certified to teach. Jim and I have 3 children: Mark- a Project Manager
with Northrop Grumman, Michael- a Supervisor at Mylan- and Jamie, a proud mom.
Jim and I divorced and I have been happily married to Dallas Branch, a Professor
at WVU for nearly 17 years. I taught school for 31 years and became a National
Board Certified Teacher before becoming an Academic Coach for Monongalia County.
I retired from Monongalia County Schools and now work for the Appalachia
Regional Comprehensive Center (ARCC) at Edvantia as a Liaison to the West
Virginia Department of Education. The Comprehensive Center provides technical
assistance to the 5 states in our region and works to build the capacity of the
states to address NCLB issues. It very interesting, important work and I love
it. I also have four adorable, beautiful grandchildren --- so life is good!
